• Rebecca Manson Jones

    Artistic Director/ co-CEO

    Rebecca’s co-created sensory productions for Spare Tyre: Whistle Stop, On The Beach (co-pro with Queens’ Theatre Hornchurch and Mast Studios) and installation We Will Be Happy Here (commissioned by London Borough of Culture, 2022).

    Long running dementia and sensory projects: Ministry of Creative Care (Croydon), It All Makes Sensory (Redbridge Carers Support Service and Bangladeshi Parents and Carers Association). In 2021 after becoming disabled by Long Covid, Rebecca initiated Chroncially Creative an online creative space held by lived-experience facilitators for people living with a long- term health condition.

    Prior to leading Spare Tyre, Rebecca founded Just Jones & becoming the first-ever winner of the Norwegian government’s Ibsen Scholarship for her adaptation and production of a gender-swapping, environmentally-campaigning tour of Ibsen’s Enemy of the People involving over 225 community members alongside the professional cast; commissions from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation enquiry into the Civic Role of Arts and the Creative People and Places Bentley Commission. She was Interim Director/CEO at Oily Cart ,the UK’s leading immersive theatre company for children and young people with complex needs. In the 2000s, she developed a ground-breaking participatory programme at the Almeida Theatre (productions including SICK! Out of the Fog and Write NOW) and was Creative Director at Exeter Northcott Theatre directing critically-praised A Doll’s House and sold out panto Mother Goose as well as launching new writing programmes there.

    She was Vice Chair of Oily Cart and safeguarding link governor at Sydenham School in South London.

    Rebecca’s productions and participatory work have been cited by Arts Council Englandas model of good practice for diversity. Whilst at Spare Tyre she has championed with colleagues a Kinder Producing Model aiming to make creative and production processes inclusive and accessible.

  • Amanda Castro

    Executive Producer/ co-CEO

    Amanda has over 10 years' experience of producing and making creative work with and for communities. Prior to joining Spare Tyre in September 2023, she was Executive Producer at Futures Theatre, and has previously worked at Company Three, Bush Theatre, Told by an Idiot and Clean Break, and as an independent producer. She is part of Terrifying Women, a collective of theatre makers dedicated to producing horror for the stage.

  • Rose Chorlton

    General & Finance Manager

    Rose joined the Spare Tyre team in April 2020, after spending 5 years working for the Forward Trust charity. While working as a social enterprise manager, she provided support, training, and employment for ex offenders and those in recovery from substance misuse. As well as empowering disenfranchised and marginalised individuals, she forged strong relationships with other social enterprises and local businesses. Prior to moving into the charity sector, she spent over 15 years in hospitality, which included managing premises for highly recognisable names. 

    Rose studied Film & American Studies at the University of Nottingham, and hosted weekly radio shows on the award-winning University Radio Nottingham. She is a camping and festival enthusiast, and a PADI Advanced scuba diver.

  • Lisa Muten

    Facilitator

    Lisa is an Associate Artist with Spare Tyre who has worked on a number of participatory projects including, as part of the touring show On the Beach, facilitating series of sensory based workshops for people living with Dementia and Sensory Interaction Training Workshops for Carers and Support Workers.

    From 2017-2022 Lisa led on the Together Project, working with elderly persons and their carers living with Dementia in collaboration with another artist, Jacksons Lane Theatre and the Haynes Centre Haringey. With the onset of Covid this developed into the Spare Tyre ‘Through Your Letterbox’ project devising and making creative pack that were posted to elderly persons both living at home and in care settings.
