Women of Wandsworth shares the stories of five extraordinary local women working in different fields, who are inspiring and influencing the community around them.

From sport, art and history, to education and activism, these five heroes are shaping their diverse communities by bringing people together, making connections stronger and inspiring people to engage in determining the future of Wandsworth.

Local residents, community groups and charities have all been involved in nominating the inspiring women chosen for this project. This exhibition share their stories alongside photographic portraits of the women.

This project builds on Spare Tyre’s previous project Over The Road which revealed the stories of 15 inspirational women living in Roehampton, from the 18th Century to the present day.

Following a week on display at the RCA Dyson Gallery in Battersea during February, the exhibition toured to the Battersea Power Station's Circus West Village Hall in March,  Roehampton Library in April/May, Wandsworth Town Library and Tooting Library in June/July.
