Spare Tyre will be delivering a workshop to develop your sensory practice when engaging creatively with older people with dementia.

Our students really enjoyed the session & learned how to look after someone who has dementia. Trying to see what a person with dementia may experience was new for them. Thank you!

Sofia Begum, Head of Health & Social Care, Greatfields College, 2024

Join our experienced facilitators for an afternoon exploring creative techniques to engage with those with dementia. This workshop is suitable for:

  • Facilitators–across a range of disciplines
  • Artists / creative practitioners–at any stage of your career, if you would like to enhance your practice
  • Informal carers–those looking after a family member, loved one, or friend
  • Formal carers–support workers, those working in care settings
  • Community volunteers–those working with the public in community settings may wish to introduce some creative techniques to their role

Over the course of 2 hours, we'll teach you different methods of engaging creatively which will boost your confidence in this area.
