Spare Tyre will be delivering a workshop to develop your sensory practice when engaging creatively with older people with dementia.
Our students really enjoyed the session & learned how to look after someone who has dementia. Trying to see what a person with dementia may experience was new for them. Thank you!
Sofia Begum, Head of Health & Social Care, Greatfields College, 2024
Join our experienced facilitators for an afternoon exploring creative techniques to engage with those with dementia. This workshop is suitable for:
- Facilitators–across a range of disciplines
- Artists / creative practitioners–at any stage of your career, if you would like to enhance your practice
- Informal carers–those looking after a family member, loved one, or friend
- Formal carers–support workers, those working in care settings
- Community volunteers–those working with the public in community settings may wish to introduce some creative techniques to their role
Over the course of 2 hours, we'll teach you different methods of engaging creatively which will boost your confidence in this area.
If you're unsure and want to find out the content of the workshop, please feel free to contact us on 07598 142 058, or email us.
