"She represents the strong spirit of women who dedicate themselves to service and they feel joy because of that, and by giving she receives back and so she never runs out of energy".
This film pays tribute to Cynthia Dunn (1932-2019)–osteopath, mother, grandmother, friend, singer, songwriter, dancer. It features her song If You Can Breathe and spoken reflections by friends from Trinity Laban's Inspired Not Tired Programme–The Befrienders and Voices in Motion.
It was created for Statues for the Unforgotten, our call for tributes to people who aren't necessarily seen or celebrated in public discussions: women, people who experience racism, Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people, LGBTQIA+ people, or people who were overlooked by history for another reason.
Thank you to Natasha Lohan and Trinity Laban for connecting with us to share Cynthia's story.
