Spare Tyre and the Health Tree invites you to the Covid Cafe
Covid Café is a creative inclusive space for anyone learning to live with Long Covid.
It’s for you if you want to hang out with other people in a similar position, share discoveries, and try new ways of being in the world.
We’ve all experienced a lot of change. Finding our way back to the life we’ve lived before Covid may not be possible or even what we truly want. Sometimes it’s hard to be the person people expect us to be, and sometimes it’s not easy to explain why we need to make a change.
Hosted by artists with lived experience of Long Covid and/or another long-term condition, the Covid Café will be a place for conversation, creativity – a place to breathe–and try out making changes one step at a time.
Whatever you want to talk about will be treated with respect and confidence by the group, whether it’s about work, family, faith, or fun. Everything’s changed, let’s work it out together.
We are joining The Health Tree, a group of organisations led by St Margaret's House exploring how social prescribing can improve wellbeing in the wake of the Covid-19
The Covid Cafés are initially being run in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and are supported by Arts Council England's Thriving Communities Fund.
About Thriving Communities
The Thriving Communities Fund will support 37 projects across England and is being delivered in a unique partnership between the Arts Council England, Historic England and Natural England, NHS England and NHS Improvement, Sport England, the Money & Pensions Service and NHS Charities Together.
It is part of the Thriving Community programme, which aims to strengthen the range of social prescribing activities offered locally, enhance collaboration and networking between local organisations and enable social prescribing link workers to connect people to more creative community activities and services.
