A bubbling undercurrent which has been informing and feeding into our projects over the past few years is Tyre Pressure: the idea of involving artists from a range of backgrounds, experimenting and creating work together, giving rise to full works. Rebecca's blog can tell you more about this concept and where we hope it leads, but for now we are delighted and proud to tell you about one manifestation of this concept: the Free Movement Lab.

We have been commissioned by the Liberty Festival part of the London Borough of Culture programme in Lewisham to explore ideas that respond to 'Freedom of Movement'. A small group of Deaf, disabled, and non-disabled artists from a range of a disciplines and backgrounds will lead this Tyre Pressure laboratory which responds to contemporary questions, informed by the passions, skills, minds, and bodies of the group.

The Curious Hour: it wouldn't be a Spare Tyre project if we didn't ask the public to help us and invite them to get involved. So....for an hour or so on days two and three, the space will be open to passers-by to interact with what we're doing. Come over and see what it's all about on Saturday 23 July and Sunday 24 July. No tickets needed and there will be a roaming BSL interpreter to assist on both days.

Creative Call Out: If you are a curious and playful creative maker and doer (whether that's a performer, puppeteer, designer...insert your talent here!) and perhaps identify as being from a marginalised group, you can get involved by applying to be one of our artists for this project.
